Isaac Petit-Frere: Stained Glass Ministry Branding
Situation: Creating Unique Ministry Branding for Young Pastor
Isaac Petit-Frere a young pastor looking to do something different in terms of his ministry branding. He came to Spellbrand.
The ministry branding market requires brands that communicate authenticity, professionalism, and spiritual connection. Isaac needed a brand identity that would be different from typical ministry branding while maintaining professionalism and spiritual resonance.

Task: Create Brand Identity with Different Ministry Branding Approach
Isaac wanted a caricature branding that would have a stained glass, mosaic image of his face (resembling a church stained glass window). The challenge required:
- Stained glass aesthetic: Brand identity with mosaic image resembling church windows
- Caricature style: Visual identity that emphasizes features (beard, bald head, glasses)
- Professional balance: Brand that is not cartoony, but captivating
- Versatile application: Brand that works in media, business cards, stationery
- Transcend entertainment: Brand that transcends entertainment while being captivating and business professional

Action: Strategic Brand Development
Brand Strategy: Stained Glass Caricature
A challenging task – to create a caricature in the stained glass style and relate to a ministry. But at Spellbrand, we thrive on challenges and this was an exciting project. We started off with the reference photos given to us by the client and started sketching out the face with pencil. We wanted to establish the core features of the face which can then be used as anchors in constructing the stained glass illustration.
After sketching in pencil, we then scanned the results into Adobe Illustrator and started creating triangular shapes that would all come together to create the face. The stained glass effect is understated yet effective giving this client a brand that is unique, impactful and beautiful.
This design approach:
- Establishes core features: Pencil sketching establishes core features as anchors
- Creates mosaic effect: Triangular shapes create stained glass mosaic effect
- Ensures professionalism: Understated effect is effective yet professional
- Creates unique brand: Creates impactful and beautiful identity
- Connects to ministry: Stained glass relates to church windows

Secondary Brand Marks: Andy Warhol Style
Additional Ideas: We also created some Andy Warhol style designs for the client as secondary brand marks that can be used in different social media contexts. This enables the client to have a powerful personal brand that can help enhance his image.
This approach:
- Enables social media versatility: Different contexts require different marks
- Adds pop art aesthetic: Andy Warhol style adds modern appeal
- Creates personal brand: Powerful brand enhances image
- Provides secondary marks: Flexible branding for various uses
