Online Food Ordering Website Review

(622)

Everyone likes to eat out, but many of us resent the massive amount of time that it takes. By the time you have waited to be seated, waited for your food, and waited for your check, you could have cooked a five course meal at home for half the price—and that’s not even counting travel time. Mealeo aims to make eating good food (that is, food prepared by someone else) a little less time consuming by offering an all-purpose meal ordering venue.

The concept is simple: you enter your ip code, pick your restaurant, make your order, and either pick up the food or have it delivered. Mealeo even claims that you can skip the lines, which makes sense considering that you . In addition, many of the restaurants that Mealeo features offer special deals for the website’s users, allowing you to save money as well as time.

It’s a great concept, no doubt, but how is the website? We are happy to say that the Mealeo website is well-designed and easy to use. The business has streamlined the process of ordering into an easy four step process (including pick up). You can search for restaurants by zip code, or opt for catering. A clean, white background and a clean, easy-on-the eyes design lead customers through the process. In addition, the use of orange as a main accent color gives a youthful feeling to the website that compliments the cartoony buttons.

This website’s main benefit is that it makes a rather complicated business model seem easy. The generally young feeling of the pictures and the rest of the site make it feel so easy even a kid could do it. There is even a video to walk you through the process. Further, it gives reluctant customers a reason to choose Mealeo rather than simply showing up at their favorite restaurant—lower prices and less waiting time. Mealeo solves a common problem in the restaurant business with a simple and effective solution that is mirrored by the simple and effective CSS webs design.

Creativity: 5 stars. The business model is not the only creative aspect here; we like how pictures and even videos are used to explain the Mealeo business. It is rare to see childlike drawings used in dining, but it certainly works here.

Ease of use: 5 stars. Clear, step-by-step instructions as well as a variety of support materials make this website very easy to use.

Functionality: 4 stars. This website has a centrally placed Facebook button as well as a ‘Tell a Friend’ button and other useful features. We think a Twitter or other site would be appropriate as well.

Content: 5 stars. The content is professional but friendly. In addition, the FAQs answer almost all questions you could have about the business.

Appropriateness: 5 stars. It’s hard to imagine a website selling this brand in a better manner. The Mealeo website offers a new concept—something that scares many customers off—but makes it easy to understand and offers a clear set of advantages.

Overall: 4.8 out of 5 stars.
