Motherhood should be an easy brand to sell. After all, most women will be mothers at some point, and most mothers consider it a rewarding role. However, Motherhood India is attempting to create a brand based on this time in order to promote a maternity hospital in Bangalore.
The landing page design is pink with serene pastel photos and swirling shapes. A fun and relevant logo sits next to a short blurb about the hospital and a link to the rest of the website. The use of a landing page that exists kind of separately from the rest of the website can be a bad strategy because it does little to enthrall customers, who are likely seeking information and want to find it as quickly as possible. However, in this case it works rather well because it begins to build the brand in the customer’s mind before they encounter the rest of the details.

Inside the website, a variety of photographs and other media are used to present the hospital as a modern and even upscale option for women in the area. The CSS website design allows for this variety of information to be effectively organized and presented in a way that will be compelling to the market it serves. Because Bangalore is a large city and (we’re assuming) has a variety of options for birthing centers, this is important.
Creating healthcare logos can be a real challenge. You have to present a very feminine brand that is comforting and soothing while also representing the values that people want from any medical establishment, like cleanliness, technological excellence, and safety. You also need to be search engine optimized, so your potential customers can see your beautiful website. CSS design is one of the best answers to this dilemma as it allows maximum style, good organization, and search engine optimization as well.
Creativity: 5 stars. Pink is a little cliché for women’s facilities, but it is a familiar and feminine color that customers will identify with. The photographs in this website are both attractive and chosen well. The site ‘comes together’ seamlessly thanks to an overarching brand and style.
Ease of use: 4 stars. This website offers a staggering amount of information, but it organized so it is easy to locate and accessible with just a click. There are no multi-layered structures with deep internal pages, which visitors will surely appreciate. However, the use of a landing page with no links except to the actual site can be a nuisance.
Functionality: 5 stars. Many might say it’s odd that a hospital has a Facebook, but we think this will be the norm more and more as healthcare companies begin to market themselves like any other corporation.
Content: 5 stars. The content is professional and appealing, exactly as you would expect. We were pleased by the good English (especially considering that this hospital is not in the US or the UK) and wonder if there are other language versions.
Appropriateness: 5 stars. This brand is hands-down perfect for a maternity hospital.
Overall: 4.8 out of 5 stars.
