If you want to give potential customers the impression that you are a fresh, witty, and experienced designer, your website is the first and best place to start. Bokche Studio claims to specialize in web and graphic design as well as SEO, so we entered the site expecting nothing but the best in design. Because they also claim to be expert programmers, we were looking for a few clever touches as well. The website may not be the most technologically advanced one that we have seen, but the wit and humor definitely is not lacking.

The cleverness of the site is definitely obvious on the front page. A picture of the designer makes up the sole image, and his head turns to follow your mouse from side to side. Creatively arranged writing to the right gives something of a mission statement and a navigation bar to the left shows you what can be found here. Gray is a businesslike background color while the cool turquoise gives a young, fresh touch. We are unsure of whether this is done on purpose, but when you move over the word ‘creative’ in the mission statement, it contains a link to the Concept page.
A bar at the bottom of the page is present throughout the site, allowing you and other users to access the company’s Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media pages. However, this bar is the source of one of our chief complaints. When you scroll over these links (and others on the site),you must linger for a second before the link can be clicked. This probably doesn’t waste more than a few seconds total over the time that you use the website, but it is a little annoying if you are in a hurry. Further, the company has several concept brands and web designs for sale, which is a pet peeve among designers. Most professional designers agree that these items must be custom designed for each client, not bought already complete.
Despite these few complaints, the website is certainly well designed and full of fun, quirky details. Here is our overall evaluation:
Creativity: 4 stars. There are a lot of cute touches here, hinting at the creativity of the business. This is important in the design world. However, most of the creativity has not been applied to function. We would need to see a little more of this to give Bokche a five.
Ease of use: 4 stars. The slight lag over certain links is the only thing keeping us from awarding them a five, because the site is otherwise very easy to navigate.
Functionality: 5 stars. Bokche clearly has a substantial web and social media presence that is made available on every single page of their site.
Content: 5 stars. The content is well written and well branded. It gives the business a definite sense of voice.
Appropriateness: 5 stars. This website is a good representative of this business. You leave with the impression that these people are experienced in a variety of design and programming tasks.
Overall: 4.6 stars. There are a few little issues, but the overall picture is a well designed and well coordinated brand that will be attractive to potential customers.
